MR Morris County, Kansas, was established in 1855. It was one of Kansas’ original 36 counties. Formerly Wise County, Morris County was named for Thomas Morris, a U.S. Senator from Ohio prominent in the Anti-Slavery movement. The county seat of Morris County is Council Grove, Kansas.
